The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has increased the risk level for West Nile Virus (WNV) for Tyngsborough to "moderate" following a positive WNV case in a neighboring community.
Here's what you should know:
- Be prepared & know your risk! Repair screens, clean up and remove mosquito breeding sites like standing water & puddles or unused swimming pools. Report such circumstances to your local Health Department.
- Wear long sleeves and long pants from dawn to dusk when weather permits.
- Use mosquito netting on baby carriages and playpens.
- Wear mosquito repellent when outdoors, especially between dusk and dawn.
- Dump standing water twice weekly.
If you have questions or concerns, contact the Tyngsborough Health Department by calling 978-649-2300 x118.
