In Tyngsborough, Town Meeting is the legislative body responsible for adopting the Town's annual budget, approving bylaw amendments, and more. Any registered voter in Tyngsborough may participate in Town Meeting and cast votes. Town Meeting is governed by the warrant which identifies all items on which Town Meeting will be asked to vote. The warrant is set by the Select Board and consists of financial, operational, and policy items as well as any petition submitted by a citizen to the Town Clerk with enough signatures. 

The warrant is reviewed and discussed during public meetings of the Select Board and each year the Town Manager hosts a Pre-Town Meeting Information Session where residents can learn more about the warrant and ask questions before Town Meeting.

Key dates for the 2026 Annual Town Meeting are below:

• Deadline to submit citizen petitions that amend zoning bylaws — March 2, 2026
• Deadline to submit all other citizen petitions — March 26, 2026
• Pre-Town Meeting Information Session — April 28, 2026, at 6 PM (at Town Hall) 
• Town Meeting — Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Tyngsborough Elementary School
