Recycling Center
The Recycling Center is open year-round at the Department of Public Works ( 89 Kendall Road). The following items are accepted at the recycling center:
*scrap metal *extra cardboards *mercury-containing and fluorescent light bulbs *textiles *Food Waste Compost
Scrap Metal Collection
The Town of Tyngsborough is pleased to offer a scrap metal collection bin for Tyngsborough residents. The bin is available 24/7 at the Recycling Center at the Highway Department (89 Kendall Road). Residents who plan to utilize the bin are encouraged to review the list of prohibited items below. Contaminated loads will cost the Town additional fees and if the problem becomes widespread may result in the discontinuation of the service.
The following items are strictly prohibited from the bin.
- Fluids of any kinds
- Full or partially full paint cans
- Sealed or open oil tanks containing fluid
- Sealed 55-gallon drums (barrels) containing fluid
- Machinery or equipment containing fluids of any kind
- Fuel or gas tanks from small engines such as lawn mowers, snow blowers, generator, welders, etc. These must be empty and open
- Sealed tanks of any kind unless cut in half such as acetylene, propane, compressed air, fire extinguishers, etc.
- Trash or non-metallic material of any kind
- Items containing PCBs no exceptions
- Radioactive materials no exceptions
- Batteries of any kind - these present a serious fire hazard
Fluorescent Light Bulbs and Mercury Bearing Products
Residents can drop off fluorescent light bulbs and mercury bearing products (thermostats, thermometers, barometers) in the shed.
Shed is unlocked. Please place the items in appropriate marked containers.
8 foot light bulbs container is located on the exterior of the shed. For everything else, please use the containers in the shed.
Please help us maintain the shed:
- No ballasts.
- No packaging or trash or debris.
- Do not tape the bulbs.
- Place items in appropriate container.
Textiles Container
Textile can be dropped off at the recycling center.
Helpsy also provide curbside collection. To schedule a home pick-up, visit their website.
Cardboard Dumpster
Please flatten cardboard and place in dumpster.
Do not litter.
Additional cardboard dumpster is also available at the Middle School parking lot on Norris Rd. Please note that the lot is not accessible this summer due to construction.
